“Lettuce.Baby” Privacy Policy
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how lettuce.baby, operated by Lettuce Park A, Limited Liability Company (“Lettuce Park A”) and part of the Lettuce ecosystem, collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, registry pages, dashboard, and browser extension (the “Service”). We aim to collect only what we need to run a helpful, safe registry and to be transparent about it.
2. Information we collect
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Account | Name, email, and profile photo from your Lettuce account (accounts.lettuce.zip), due date, and registry settings you enter. |
| Registry content | Items you add, notes, baby photos you upload, and public page details you choose to share. |
| Gift & payment | Contribution amount, guest name/message a guest chooses to provide, and payment status. Card details are handled by our processor — we never see or store full card numbers. |
| Usage & device | Log data such as IP address, browser type, and pages viewed, used for security and to improve the Service. |
3. How we use information
- To create and operate your registry and display the public page you choose to share.
- To process cash gifts, the diaper fund, and group-gift contributions, and to make payouts.
- To fetch product details (title, image, price) when you paste a link or use the extension.
- To provide support, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the Service secure.
- To send transactional messages (for example, a gift notification or an invite you request).
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Payment processing
Contributions are processed by Stripe, which acts as our payment processor. Stripe collects and processes payment information under its own privacy policy. To receive payouts, registry owners complete Stripe onboarding and identity verification; that information is handled by Stripe, and we receive only the status and limited details needed to operate payouts.
5. The browser extension
6. How we share information
- With your guests: the public registry page shows what you choose to publish (baby name, items, photos, fund progress).
- Service providers: processors like Stripe, hosting, email delivery, and analytics that work on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- Third-party stores: when a guest chooses to buy an item, they leave to the retailer’s own site; some links may be affiliate links.
- Legal & safety: when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users and the Service.
- Business transfers: as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
7. Children’s privacy
lettuce.baby is intended for parents and adult guests. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Baby photos and details are provided by the adult account owner about their own family; you control what you publish and can remove it at any time.
8. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then for a reasonable period to meet legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention obligations. You can delete registry content at any time, and you may request account deletion as described below.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage most registry content directly in your dashboard. To make a formal request, email privacy@lettuce.baby. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
10. Security
We use technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit and access controls — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to notify you and regulators of incidents where required by law.
11. International users
We operate in the United States, and your information may be processed there and in other countries where we or our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy; material changes take effect on the “last updated” date above. Significant changes will be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate.
